Nestled at the foot of Monte Brione and overlooking a picturesque gulf at the extreme north of Lake Garda, Riva has a mild climate that favours typically Mediterranean vegetation. The Venetian fortress is now home to the civic museum and art gallery, the Apponale tower, Palazzo Pretorio are just a few. Two well-known representations of Baroque art are the Church of the Inviolata and the Church of S. Maria Assunta.
